Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in business-facing product analytics to join our team in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will have 5 7 years of experience applying data science, statistical analysis, experimentation, and machine learning techniques to solve complex business and product problems.

This role requires a combination of strong technical skills, business acumen, analytical thinking, and excellent communication. The successful candidate will work closely with business and product stakeholders to translate ambiguous problems into actionable analytical solutions and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable business insights.

• Partner with product and business stakeholders to understand objectives and translate ambiguous questions into structured analytical problems.

• Design, execute, and interpret A/B tests and controlled experiments , including control group setup and efficacy measurement.

• Develop analytical models and apply statistical and machine learning techniques to support business and product decisions.

• Write complex and efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from large-scale data environments.

• Use Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, experimentation, and automation.

• Work with Spark/big data environments to query and process large datasets.

• Evaluate opportunities to apply AI/LLM capabilities to business and product problems and communicate practical recommendations to business partners.

• Present analytical findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and independently drive projects from problem definition through delivery.

• Apply statistical rigor and critical thinking when evaluating data, experiments, and business outcomes.

• Build dashboards and visualizations using Tableau or similar BI tools when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 7 years of experience in Data Science , with a strong focus on business-facing product analytics.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python .

• Experience working with large datasets and big data environments; Spark experience is highly desirable.

• Hands-on experience designing and interpreting A/B tests , including control group setup and efficacy measurement.

• Working knowledge of AI/LLM capabilities and their practical application to business problems.

• Strong understanding of statistics, experimentation, and machine learning techniques.

• Demonstrated ability to derive meaningful insights from large and complex datasets.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break ambiguous problems into actionable steps.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work independently and drive projects with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tableau or similar business intelligence and data visualization tools.

• Experience working with financial products or within financial services.

• Strong combination of business and technical expertise .

• Experience partnering closely with product managers, business teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
